Born July 4, 1940
Died July 4, 2022

"The Hammer" died on his 82nd birthday. He did sports talk radio for the longest time in South Florida and LOVED to talk gambling when gambling wasnt such a popular subject.

Loved betting the ponies and NFL.

I used to love listening to his Friday picks segment on his radio show as it would influence some of my Sunday NFL wagers.

Always enjoyed listening to him on Radio Row during super bowl week as both interviewer and interviewee as he had a lot of friends in the industry and some good stories.

I remember him telling a story in January 2002 at the New Orleans super bowl how the Pats were watching him play at Harrahs Casino and they were watching him in awe as he would watch them in awe on the field of Sundays.

1 of the best "old school sports radio guys"

RIP Hammer

Hank was great and joins a list of guys we have lost who can never be replaced. Always would see him around Vegas until the last few years when his health really declined. He still was on Daily Wager occasionally, but the last few times via phone only. Really enjoyed his thoughts on the NFL and horses.

Hank was the King of Florida sports talk radio before Dan LeBatard.
Yup.

Hank gave "Stu Gotz" the name "Stu Gotz"

Lebatard knocked Hank out as the "top guy"

Hank was 1 of the few sports talk radio hosts who wasnt afraid to talk gambling and ACTUALLY knew what he was talking about

He also had some MONSTER years picking games on ESPN. He also had some duds (and would call himself out)

He would do some of his broadcasts from Gulfstream Racetrack (he lived 10 min from there) and would let us know who we was betting before the race in case some of the "online guys" wanted to get some action in

He was the best. If you called his sports radio show and suggested something stupid, you got insulted, the way you should have. Don't ever call my show again you jagoff. Real legend. Back in the day they would break down March Madness for gamblers. RIP.

Sports radio went downhill after he left the airwaves. I thought lebatard was a retard. Don't forget Barry Jackass from the Herald.
